Feeding of the 5,000
In a parallel to the well-known Bible story, five thousand hot lunches will have been cooked and delivered by a team of volunteers to the elderly and vulnerable of Great Lumley on Friday 30 October 2020.

Doing our bit for the community during the Coronavirus Pandemic
By working with local councillors, volunteers and the power of social media, we have started to prepare and deliver cooked meals to those who are most vulnerable in the village.

It's been amazing to observe genuine concern for family, friends and neighbours... to experience the connnectedness and sense of community. Let's hope and pray that this remains with the panic is over. #loveoneanother

Sunday services held online during Coronavirus Crisis
Sunday gatherings are hugely important in church life so the absence of them matters. On Sunday 22 March the Chester-le-Street Circuit hosted its first attempt at an online service as a substitute for meeting in a building to worship God.

We're learning as we go but most of the usual components of a service were made possible (except the offering). We sang songs/hymns, said prayers and listened to a fine sermon from Rev Ian Kent.

Good Friday
Each year we perform a set piece re-telling of the events of Good Friday on the green outside the Old England Public House. This year it has had to be cancelled but we will be back in 2021.

Good Friday Service
This is also cancelled for 2020.
